The 2nd Bonn Conference on International Development Policy offered a multifaceted side programme in addition to the main conference programme. On this page you find further information on these diverse activities.

Workshop on Financing Development Cooperation
Within the framework of the workshop, we have provided you with an insight into the various possibilities of  financing development cooperation. Following the brief presentations on four different financing programmes, you had the opportunity to get in touch with the presenters in small groups of ten to fifteen persons, in order to receive more detailed information and to ask concrete questions.

KfW Meeting Point
Within the framework of the conference, the KfW Entwicklungsbank (development bank) has offered a meeting point for discussion and exchange of information that was open throughout the entire duration of the conference. Consultants specialised in different sectors and regions were at your disposal in the "Press Rondel" at the World Conference Center Bonn on both conference days.

On both conference days, selected organisations active in development cooperation have presented their work and several projects at the World Conference Center Bonn.

Photo Exhibition

For the first time, the photo exhibition "Onipa Aduro ne Nnipa - Man is Man's Medicine" has been shown in the lobby of the World Conference Center Bonn within the framework of the conference. The photos were the result of the cooperation between the photographer Joachim Schmeisser and the German organisation "Die Ärzte für Afrika e.V." (Doctors for Africa) in Ghana in 2009.

Guided Tour of the World Conference Center Bonn
On the first day of the conference, August 27th, 2009, we have offered you a guided tour of the historical setting where the conference took place. The tour of the conference center, where the members of the German Bundestag held their debates from 1986 to 1999, was offered in English as well as in German.

Reception at Deutsche Welle Bonn
On the evening of the first conference day a reception at Deutsche Welle Bonn took place. After words of welcome by Christian Gramsch, Programme Director of the Deutsche Welle, and Bärbel Dieckmann, mayor of the Federal City of Bonn the band "Blue George" from Cologne provided musical entertainment.
