Naheed HaqueNaheed Haque is Deputy Executive Coordinator of United Nations Volunteers (UNV), the UN organisation that contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. Before joining UNV, she served as United Nations Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Pacific covering the Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa and Tokelau. During her tenure in Samoa from 2006 to 2009, she worked closely with her counterpart in Fiji and fifteen United Nations Agencies to develop the first sub-regional United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF), covering the development priorities of fourteen Pacific Island countries. She has served with UNDP in Bangladesh (her home country), Bhutan, Iran, Nepal, South Africa, Timor-Leste, Viet Nam, and with UNDP Headquarters in New York. She joined UNDP from the Government of Bangladesh. Ms. Haque holds a bachelor’s degree in physics, mathematics and psychology as well as a master’s degree in management from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and a master’s degree in business administration from the American University in Washington, DC.
