Senator_BizimanaJean Baptiste Bizimana has been a Senator in the Rwandan Parliament and a member of the Senate Committee on Economic Development and Finance since 2003. He is also a member of the Network of Rwandan Parliamentarians on Population and Development, which seeks to promote environmentally friendly actions as a way of generally improving living conditions. Jean Baptiste Bizimana earned a bachelor's degree in the science of education at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome. He served as director of an upper secondary school for many years before becoming local district mayor, an office which he held for more than ten years. During this time, he devoted a great deal of effort to building the partnership between his district and the Donnersbergkreis local government district in Rhineland-Palatinate and to promoting the philosophy of this "grass-roots partnership" (of municipalities, associations, private and public institutions, etc.) between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda.
