Bernd_SchleichBernd Schleich has been Managing Director of InWEnt – Internationale Weiterbildung und Entwicklung gGmbH since 2002. He acquired a broad range of professional experience in a variety of German development cooperation institutions. During his studies of social sciences and business education at the University of Göttingen, he received a scholarship from the foundation Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. Following this, Bernd Schleich pursued postgraduate training with the German Development Institute/Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE). From 1979 to 1983, he was the first national officer of the German Development Service (DED) in Nicaragua. Subsequently, Bernd Schleich worked as a development-policy expert for vocational training and small and medium-sized enterprises from 1983 to 1985 on behalf of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH and the German Foundation for International Development (DSE). In 1988 he became head of the department "Environmental and Resource Protection" of the Carl Duisberg Society (CDG) in Berlin, and joined the general management of the CDG in 1992.
