The 1st Bonn Conference on International Development Policy 2007 was entitled "The Millenium Development Goals - A Special Challenge for Africa and International Development Policy".
The goal of the 1st Bonn Conference on International Development Policy was to take stock of the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals in Africa and to reveal necessary additional steps and also to present the new partnership between North Rhine Westphalia and the Republic of Ghana.
The conference was a highlight for everyone involved due to the distinguished members of the panel and some 500 international experts and decision makers from the political, academic, industrial, civil society and Diaspora fields. We had to turn down a further 200 potential participants in advance due to the great interest this event aroused.
The conference set an example of the commitment of the Federal German State of North Rhine-Westphalia in the field of international development cooperation. As a permanent event it will also continue to provide valuable impulses for North-South cooperation in the future.
